Hi Germi.

You may have heard about the newest Jomsocial 1.8 GPL release (no longer in beta). It was announced about an hour ago.
Have you had the opportunity to test it with MC?
Upgrading to Jomsocial 1.8 requires the removal of all third party extensions.

Info reads:
3. All third party JomSocial-related plugins (modules/apps/core enhancements) have to be disabled/uninstalled. Contact the original developer for an updated version. We can not stress this enough, please disable/remove all third-party JomSocial extensions before uninstalling and upgrading JomSocial.

7. Consult apps/modules/plugins developers for a compatible JomSocial 1.8 version of their extensions.

Ok... no problems.

I haven't tested it yet. I cant afford the risk at the moment if it doesn't work. I guess I could set up a test account and connect to a duplicate database, but it's all about time management at the moment .

I might have a look at it, but it won't be until next week some time.

No rush - I just thought you might like the heads up to test it yourself too.

(3:15am where I am - my eyes are seeing double - time to break )

New JomSocial 1.8 supports events, so i'm very interested if MC will make use of the new event system?

It would be awesome to integrate it, so you could show events on artists pages or different artists on an event page, like on last.fm
