Currently my site runs on php 5.2 and I have no problems but now the administrator of my server told me that soon will be updated php to version 5.3 and he told me to check before everything goes smoothly.

What does "nope"?

I run mine on php 5.3 and it works alright. There are some warnings about depreciated functions, mostly in joomla, but they do not affect anything and I just have the warnings disabled so they do not show up on my site.

Supposedly the next major release of joomla will remove the code that is deprecated so those warnings won't get reported. They are just basically there to let the end user know that the functions will be removed all together in php 6, but that won't be out anytime soon. No solid eta is listed on it last I checked.
