Thank you very much Germi. I didn't noticed that earlier. The videos are added to the play list; however, I don't seem to get a thumbnail for them (Also get the triangle for file not found in the player area). When I hit play it does not play the video. The JWplayer module, I did not update since 2.0 update as I have to reintegrate the modifications for the commercial version. Is the version of module dependent on the component version for the video. Should I be looking at module or elsewhere for it not working. BTW, the video plays fine in the song page. Thanks much.

I changed the parameters on the menu and on MC and still have the albums list on the home page.
For the picture it still does not show up.
Can you upload any dum picture just for test? and also a menu that will show the Album and Song search only?
Sorry about that but I can't do it!!

Hi Germi,

My presumption is that if we search for "abb", we should find it in any string that has it as substring; regardless of it's position in the string and context. For multiple words as search string, I would guess an intersection of searches for individual words would do, of course with an efficient algorithm to do it. And to take it even one notch higher agrep style search would help bad typers like me :-)) But these could be added search options. I don't have a specific requirement from the client, but I suspected this might come up sometime.

Germi can you please just create/edit the form.php and song.js files and/or put in the parameters area or somewhere else of the Musicol component for making certain fields editable for the album and artist pages in the admin area, upload them here and it would be less work for you to come here and post about telling people to edit these files and then warning us if we aren't knowledgeable in making certain edits in certain types of files..
Or just come up with an extension that allows us to make the album and the song fields entirely editable this is starting to become a serious need, i've posted here about edits as well, most people will careless to not have to enter the song lengths, song numbers, positions, and redundant entries, i can already tell you some/most people do not want to spend time filling in a long and lengthy application of fields just to upload a song or an album..
I know how to edit a regular template but if i have to go into js files im lost and i would rather not have to keep coming to this forum over and over and wait for you to tell me to poke around this and that file to do this and that but warn me not to do it because it could screw everything else up..
Just do it and attach the file for us, how hard can that be for you?

first, let me tell you that this extension is excellent and you are doing an awesome job.

I have two main problems:

1 - when i try to put a folder name in "scan a folder" input field i get this errors after replacing albuns.php file that you posted on other thread:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/musicdb/public_html/administrator/components/com_muscol/controllers/albums.php on line 1010

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/musicdb/public_html/administrator/components/com_muscol/controllers/albums.php on line 1020

However, the folder name appear in top left corner.

2 - When i scan folders without filling "scan a folder" input field all seems to work fine (listing folders), but i'm having some difficults to manage it, i'll give you a example:

I have a folder called "Sting" (artist), inside it i have another folder called "Nothing Like the Sun" (album) and inside it i have all the musics that belong to this album.

What i am doing... i go through "Sting", "Nothing Like the Sun" folders to reach my album musics. I select "Create a new album using this files" and it gave me this errors:

- Under Artist field: "Could not find artist matching Nothing Like the Sun. Please select artist from list".

- The Album name field is not being filled with album name.

---

I've created "Sting" artist under Artists Tabs.

Anyone can help me?

Just a heads up for anyone else with this problem, I added the divs previously and couldn't figure out why it did not work. I overlooked one very important thing. Make sure you are making the changes in the:

\songs\tmpl\default.php

and not the:

@ayyoub
My belief is that there's absolutely no way to scan folder residing on another server (local network or not) unless you have mounted a sharepoint to your local server. This really a security feature - if anyone can scan folder on your remote server, it wouldn't be very secure would it. For those of you not familiar with mounting, you can easily use sshfs to mount if you have shell access to remote server (either on local network or accross internet). After that, the mount point behaves as if it's a local directory and MC scanning would work.

If you don't want to go down that route, you can write a script in your favorite language to list directories and output mysql command to merge with MC database. However, this must be run on your remote server so again you'd have to have some sort of shell access.

@greengeek
If you disable directory listing, using alias and careful .htaccess can function as a stop-gap solution before 2.1 arrives simply because user will have to know the exact path to the song to steal it. The current MC is smart enough that it doesn't present complete path of songs to users so normal visitors won't be able to find them just by browsing. Your .htaccess will have to block web spider from combing that directory so your songs won't show up on search engines and such.

Music Collection can automatically shrink covers?

Some covers have 2mb and more.
Because it would be nice if MC would reduce automatically by upload the images (eg, resolution, dpi ,..).

Is it doable, or at some planned?

I updated my Search Bars mod install to give it a more clean uniformed look. This is what I did.

1. Add a line break at line 44 in the modules\mod_muscol_search_bars\tmp\default.php to separate the album and song search so they aren't smashed right on top of each other.

2. Add the following lines to the end of the file to modules\mod_muscol_search_bars\tmp\search_bars.css The code calls for it, but there was no css set in the css file. This makes the song search follows the same layout rules as the album search.
.searchsongsmodule input.keyword_search_input, .searchsongsmodule select{
	width:100%;
	margin-bottom:4px;
}
Hope this helps.
